HostRails (“HostRails,” “we,” “us”) provides managed WordPress websites and hosting for small businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to hostrails.com and the services we operate. Questions? Email hello@hostrails.com.

Information you give us. When you sign up, request information, book a call, or subscribe to updates, we collect details like your name, business name, email address, phone number, and billing information (payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers).

Information from using the service. We collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and, for hosted websites, operational data needed to run and secure them (logs, backups, uptime metrics).

We use your information to:

• provide, maintain, and improve our websites and hosting services;
• set up and manage your account, billing, and support;
• communicate with you about your account and service (for example: website build updates, review requests, and appointment reminders);
• send marketing communications where you have opted in;
• protect the security and integrity of our platform and comply with the law.

If you provide your mobile number and opt in — for example through our text message sign-up form — we may send you customer-care/account-notification texts and, with separate consent, marketing texts. Consent to receive marketing texts is never a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies, and message & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP at any time to unsubscribe.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding the aggregators and providers of the text messaging service used to deliver our messages.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — such as cloud hosting infrastructure, our payment processor, our customer relationship and messaging platform, and analytics — and only as needed to provide the service. These providers are bound to use your information solely on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, our customers, or the public.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some features.

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements — including retaining SMS consent records for as long as required for compliance. We protect data with industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and isolated infrastructure.

• Texts: reply STOP to any message, or email us, to stop receiving texts.
• Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
• Access & deletion: email hello@hostrails.com to request a copy of your information or ask us to delete it.

Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
